Meet your instructor: Åsa Söderman
After completing her undergrad in New York City and then moving to Boston to pursue her PhD, Åsa says she "spent a lot of time not writing" and realizing that academia was not where her passions lay. Instead, she decided to "do this knitting thing."
"I can breathe, and when I let go of my 'non-dissertation', I also breathed freely, and I haven't looked back."
She entered the design world after a friend suggested she sell her patterns to pay for her yarn habit. That, paired with her keen sense of problem-solving, led her to create this ingenious top-down method of sweater knitting that has taken the knitting world by storm.
