BRAND MANAGER /
EDITORIAL CONTENT PRODUCER

Position Overview. This role will act as our ‘brand guardian’ to maintain brand integrity across all marketing initiatives and communications, as well as manage our lively editorial calendar and content production.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the running and completion of multiple projects at the same time, with a high level of team collaboration. This individual should be highly organized with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead a team of people.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

Brand Management

  • Make, maintain and propagate branding decisions consistently across the business/team and to all customer touch-points.
  • Educate team on the Brand Voice, Brand Book and other branding guidelines.
    Represent brand strategy in promotional strategy meetings with Marketing.
  • Work with Relationships Manager and Store Operations team to make key yarn decisions so that downstream inventory and promotional decisions are made in a timely manner.

Editorial Content Production

  • Manage all editorial content from conception to finished drafts. This includes Knit Stars Tips, weekly Scoop newsletter, product photography and graphic design. Manage copywriters.
  • Maintain 52 week editorial calendar across all communication channels (weekly newsletter, blog, social, etc)
  • Partner with Marketing Director and Relationships Manager to create monthly, quarterly, annual flow and focus of weekly newsletter to reach sales goals.
  • Have a strategic eye for mining and repurposing existing assets into compelling and channel-appropriate content.
  • Research and test new and innovative ways to communicate the brand and the Knit Stars story.
  • Copy-edit and proof editorial content, and write content when needed.
  • Manage in-house production efforts for new seasons of Knit Stars. Oversee video edits, workshop assets and drive deadlines to assure content is delivered on time and on brand. Manage production vendors (video team, video editing team, etc).

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience working in brand management and/or multi-channel content production in B2C
  • Experience in an e-commerce or DNVB business, and in an omni-channel environment with retail presence
  • Expertise managing the production of editorial content on a weekly basis, maintaining a 52-week calendar, hitting deadlines and maintaining quality
  • Customer-centric mindset and the ability to understand KnitStars target consumer
  • Art direction experience and a passion for writing copy for knitting/crocheting audience is a major plus
  • Strong project management, attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small mentality
  • Bonus: A love of yarn, knitting/crocheting, and creativity
