Knit Stars Live with Francoise! ✨

Francoise will begin by sharing how she incorporates her work as an indigenous artist into her knit patterns and designs. She’ll then move into her workshop based on her beautiful “Once Were Weavers” shawl, featuring the Drop Cable Stitch and lateral braid knit flat techniques. The pattern will be available for free as part of this workshop, and you will need size US 5 (3.75mm) and US 8 (5mm) needles to complete your shawl. This is a great workshop for knitters who are looking to get a bit more adventurous with lace!

Karen, a busy knitter and mom to two young boys, writes: “I’ve been making this soup a lot lately. It’s delicious, super super easy, and a good way to put spinach into people who might not otherwise be amenable to it.” Enjoy this recipe from TasteofHome-dot-com. We bet it goes on your weekly rotation!

Ingredients

• 1 teaspoon olive oil
• 2 garlic cloves, minced
• 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) no-salt-added diced tomatoes, undrained
• 3 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) vegetable broth
• 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
• 1 package (9 ounces) refrigerated cheese tortellini
• 4 cups fresh baby spinach
• Shredded Parmesan cheese
• Freshly ground pepper

Directions:

1. In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add garlic; cook and stir 1 minute. Stir in tomatoes, broth and Italian seasoning; bring to a boil. Add tortellini; bring to a gentle boil. Cook, uncovered, just until tortellini are tender, 7-9 minutes.
2. Stir in spinach. Sprinkle servings with cheese and pepper.
