Leila Raven is generously offering a free pattern from her Community Appreciation Bundle this week. In support of her work as a designer, we’ve put all of our Quince + Co. yarns on sale at 30% off while they last. Here are some of our favorites, using yarns we have in stock…
Knit in Quince Kestrel, an aran weight linen, Leila’s “Deschain” knits up quick and flatters every shape. With size inclusive patterning, you’ll need 7 to 17 skeins, depending on your fit. This boxy pullover has *fantastic* lace details that are just. so. elegant.
And her “Bayou” shawl makes a timeless linen layer with eight skeins of Kestrel.
For a lightweight pullover with unique construction, try Leila’s “Bolan” with Quince Sparrow, a 100% linen fingering weight. Sideways construction and impeccable sleeve details make this top so special. Find your size and knit it with 5-14 skeins of Sparrow.
Leila’s “Loire” is a another lovely linen piece with unforgettable lace. This cardigan is a masterpiece of lace and movement. Use 11-19 skeins of Quince Sparrow.
Her obvious signature is sweet detailing – even in this simple blanket for a new itty-bitty in your life. The “Sully” baby blanket is snuggly-soft with Amano Sami, a Pima cotton full of sheen and softness. Knit Leila Raven’s “Sully” with 3 skeins of Amano Sami in color 1801, and 2 skeins each of colors 1800, 1802, and 1808.
Or make your own stripey color combo!

Eating seasonal produce is a great way to save money and respect the natural agriculture and farming of a region.
So with that in mind, it’s your duty to try this Pear & Chocolate crumble from House and Garden – do the calories count if the pears are seasonal? 😂
Enjoy this warm and simple dessert on a cold February day…
Ingredients:
5-6 ripe pears
1/2 Cup unrefined light brown sugar
1/2 Cup dark chocolate chips
3/4 Cup plain flour
3/2 Cup unrefined granulated sugar
1 Stick cold butter, diced
Directions:
1. Peel, core and chop the pears. Combine with the light brown sugar and half the dark chocolate chips. Divide the mixture between six ovenproof ramekins or cups, or spread into a 9×9 pan instead.
2. For the topping, place the plain flour, granulated sugar and diced butter in a food processor. Pulse until just combined and the mixture starts to clump together. (You can also do this by rubbing the mixture together with your fingertips to mix the butter through the flour and sugar.) Stir in the remaining chocolate chips. Divide the topping between the ramekins and press down lightly. You can make the crumble ahead to this stage.
3. Heat the oven to 350. Transfer the ramekins to a baking tray and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until golden and bubbling. Serve with ice cream!
