Tweedy 2-skein taster project 😋

Kim Dyes Yarn “Flan” is a single ply fingering yarn in a merino/silk blend, so you know your project will work up with beautiful structure and sheen. The slight twist to the yarn minimizes fuzz factor and this yarn dyes up *beautifully* for shawls, tops, or scarves.

Loops Trooper Mitzi used Flan in her “Kiboushi” – a stylish pullover by Ririko with a lace pattern on the shoulder, sleeves, and lower body. The high-low slit hem makes this flattering piece both current and classic.

Mitzi said, “The silky drape of the yarn was fantastic which made the finished sweater very drapey and soft against my skin. The color granite is the perfect neutral with just a hint of color, making it pair well with my favorite jeans or with special skirt for a night out on the town! Kiboushi is a fun sweater with lots of interesting bobbles and lace accents against stockinette to rest the mind. It’s easy to lengthen or shorten to suit your body type with a flattering split tail hem.”

“Kiboushi” is worked from the top down seamlessly; the yoke is first worked in the round with saddle shoulder construction, then back and forth separately to the underarm, where they are joined again. The lower body is knitted in one piece in the round with a lace pattern, then split into two and knitted to two different lengths. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the arm openings and worked down to 3/4 length in the round with lace pattern.

This sweater is designed to be worn with 6-18″ of positive ease, and you’ll need 3 (4, 5, 5)(6, 6, 7, 8) skeins of Flan Fingering for finished bust size 38¼ (43½, 49, 54¼)(59¾, 65, 70½, 75¾)”.

Did we have you at “15 Minutes”?

This 15-Minute Southern Hot Honey Butter Shrimp recipe is full of mouthwatering flavor and you probably have most of the ingredients in your spice cabinet! It’s a great recipe from our new favorite food blog, Half Baked Harvest! YUM.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds raw jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined, tail-on or off
1 1/2 tablespoons cajun seasoning
black pepper
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
4 tablespoons salted butter
3-4 cloves garlic, minced or grated
1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (or 2 teaspoons dried thyme)
zest and juice from 1 lemon

Hot Honey!
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons salted butter
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper using more or less to your taste
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
kosher salt

Directions:
1. Pat the shrimp dry, then toss with the cajun seasoning and a large pinch of pepper.

2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. When the oil shimmers, add the shrimp and cook until pink, about 2 minutes per side. Add the butter, garlic, thyme, and lemon zest. Continue to cook the shrimp in the butter until the garlic begins to caramelize and turns a light golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the lemon juice.

3. To make the spicy honey sauce. Melt together the honey, butter, cayenne, chili powder, paprika, and a pinch of salt.

4. Serve the shrimp topped with flaky salt and drizzled with spicy hot honey sauce. I like to serve over polenta and/or with a side of crusty bread.
