🧶Summertime and the knittin’ is easy

This past week, I was in Tulsa, hanging out with the awesome Flagship crew.

If you haven’t been in lately to chat with my kind and helpful teammates, pet the new Hot Loops projects and get a heapin’ helpin’ of inspiration, you’re overdue! ⏰

To give our team a bit more ease and flow through the summer months, we’ve implemented new Summer Hours. We’ll be open 11am-5pm Wednesday through Saturday, now through August.

Flagship Team member Stephanie in her new Sophie Scarf made with one skein of Twisted Ambitions DK. Pattern by PetiteKnit on Ravelry.

The store is brimming with new projects and exclusive yarns, and while I was in town, “Hot Luke” and I were able to move all the yarn from our off-site storage onto our back wall.

Thatsalottayarn, folks!

I also finished my “Sliding Is Fun” blanket by srossinifaust on Ravelry – a free, fun and easy beginner pattern.

To make this stroller-size blanket, all you need is one skein of Cumulus Rainbow color-changing yarn, and one skein of Cumulus Solid. True to its name, it’s such a fun, fast pattern! And we’ve got lots of color combo options here. The yarn is sooooo soft and washable.

I suggest whipping up a couple to have on hand for future baby showers!

Baby Michael was so comfy cuddled by his mama and wrapped up in his new blankie…

He fell right to sleep! 😴

I’ll be back in Tulsa in just a few weeks, and hope to see you visiting when I’m there.

Will you be visiting from out of town? Download our free, helpful visitor’s guide with all our favorite places here.

xoxo,

+ your Knit Stars Team

P.S. In last week’s issue all about linen, I forgot to include my all-time go-to linen sweater: Lizzie by Georgie Nicolson. This piece would be perfect in our own Plant-Based Princess yarn. You’ll need 4/4/4/4/5/5/5/5/6/6 skeins of Plant-Based Princess yarn for finished bust sizes 32/34/36/38/40/42/44/46/48/50 inches.

Starting this week, along with our Summer Hours, we’re introducing FREE beginner knit and crochet classes in-store!

Just pop in anytime from 1-3pm Saturdays at our Flagship Store. Come a little early to buy materials, or bring your own (call ahead to find out what to bring: 918-742-9276).

Over the years, we’ve developed some super cute patterns for absolute  beginners – so cute, in fact, that you’d never know they are beginner patterns!

“But Shelley, I’m too far away from the store (or the free classes don’t fit my schedule) you say?”

Never fear my friend, we have two great options for you!

Download our free beginner knitting series and get access to 5 great patterns plus instructional videos here.

Grainy Mustard Salmon

It’s not been too long since I shared a version of this recipe. But it’s become such a simple, weekly staple for us, I wanted to lift it up to you again – with a twist.

All you do is brush salmon filets with olive oil, season generously with kosher salt and pepper, then spread about a teaspoon of course, grainy mustard on top (the grainy mustard is the simple – but oh-so-good – twist on the original recipe). Bake at 425° for twenty minutes or to your liking. THAT’S IT! That’s the whole recipe. And I swear it’s my favorite recipe ever for salmon.

This week we served it on a celery root puree with a side of steamed asparagus (tossed in a little butter, salt, pepper and shredded parm). A perfect dinner in under 30 minutes. Win!

If you make the recipe or cast on any of this week’s projects, we’d love for you to post on your social and tag us @knitstars
