𧶠You did it!
BY SHELLEY BRANDER
You did it, dear readers. You did it! đđ»đșđđ
On our opening day of Season 10 Earlybird signups, you broke the internet.
For the first time in 10 Seasons, there was so much enrollment traffic, our site went completely down, then as Season 10 Star Clara Parkes posted, âlimped along while the people with passwords fan it and feed it grapes and click buttons to make it work again.â
Fortunately, our tiny tech team worked overtime and moved us over to a âbig girl” server all our own. So if you ran into any speedbumps trying to enroll, or if you were already enrolled but had trouble ordering the special Season 10 yarns, kits and Joji bags, you have the all clear to try again. It should go at warp speed!
Enroll in Season 10 at the Earlybird discount here (use code SEASONX to save an extra $50).
Once youâre enrolled, youâll get a special secret link to shop the yarns (youâll also find it in your Season 10 portal).
It was the highlight of the year for me to see all of our Season 10 Stars announce that theyâre teaching in this yearâs Knit Stars and first-time-ever Crochet Stars.
Most of them announced on Instagram, and a few also posted on YouTube. In case you missed it, I thought Iâd share their links, to enjoy while working on your favorite project this week. đ
In her YouTube announcement, Season 10 Star Jen Geigley talks about how she has been a Knit Stars viewer for all 10 Seasons, and how surprised she was to get âthe callâ to be in Season 10. You can watch the full YouTube here. And here are a few excerptsâŠ
âIn the past, Iâve invested in different Seasons myself, and I honestly have no regrets. Iâve watched them countless times over the years, which to me is the best part because you get to keep these classes forever, and theyâre there for you when you need them.â
âI donât really watch normal tv anymore. I watch knit and crochet content, and maybe sewing. So this is for people like us!â Jen said. âItâs become my comfort background knitting online content. I have it on all the time while Iâm working. Plus Knit Stars has helped me grow as a knitter and has boosted my confidence as a designer, and I want that for you as well.â
âOne trip to Rhinebeck costs more than the Golden Ticket on Knit Stars. [Theyâre each] worth it in different ways, but also, if youâre not able to travel, this is much more inclusive. And you get to keep these classes forever, which you donât get with an in-person classâŠYou donât have to get out of your pajamas, you donât have to get a plane ticket, you donât have to go to a hotel or travel. Itâs here for you whenever you need it.â
And then there was Season 10 Star Samantha Brunsonâs YouTube video.
Beth sent this to me first thing Sunday morning and said, âRun, donât walk to watch Samâs YouTube!â
In it, Sam has captured the whole process of becoming a Knit StarâŠincluding that first message I sent her on Instagram, and our very first call, and her emotions and reactions throughout. Her joy is so palpable throughout this video, and she shares some more vulnerable parts too that will help you see why weâve all fallen in love with her!
She writes, âFrom the moment I got the call to the very first swatch for my class, I knew I had to bring you along on this wild and beautiful ride. In this video, Iâm sharing the behind-the-scenes scoop on how this dream came to lifeâfrom secret phone calls to yarn swatches, the incredible people behind the scenes, and why this moment means so much to me.â
And then thereâs Dominique, aka @namasteandcrochet âŠ
Her YouTube announcement got very raw and real about her yarn journey.
âI did not set out to be a fashion designer. I really started to crochet because I was holding onto these stitches like a mental health life raft. I was so depressed. I was in the music industry, had peopleâs money banking on the fact that I was going to be a singer. Itâs totally wild that this is where it has led me.â
âThe stitches, they helped me meditate. They became a sort of mantra I would say over and over to myself. And in this dark place, I kept finding these little glimmers of inspiration that I would follow. And it led me somewhere so beautiful and unexpectedâŠâ
You can watch Dominiqueâs YouTube here.
In other news, the Season 10 Earlybird yarn sale is off to a huge start! The top sellers so far are Canon Hand Dyesâ kits for Franklin Habitâs masterclass on shadow knitting, and the Moondrake kits for Norah Gaughanâs masterclass on âdrawing with cables.â
Speaking of whichâŠcheck out this work-in-progress photo Norah just posted of her masterpiece in the making! What a genius she is at cables and well, everything!
If you havenât yet signed up for Season 10 as an Earlybird, now is your time! Go to knitstars.com/masterclass and use coupon code SEASONX to save an extra $50. Or better yet, go to your favorite Starâs Instagram and sign up through the link in their bio! Itâs a great way to support the Stars who give so much to our craft.
And if youâve already signed up, hereâs a big hug from me to you! We are well on our way to our big goal of 10,000 sign-ups, when weâll 10X our give-back to our 15 charities. â€ïž Thank you so much!
xoxo,
So I wasnât gonna do itâŠbut I canât help myself.
Even though Iâve got 3 projects heavily underway, I couldnât resist casting on for the spring Knit Collage make-along.
What got me was this new yarn Amy and her team have created, called âMixtape.â
Iâm going to cast on the new Mixtape Sweater, short-sleeved version, in (what else?) the Ocean Calm colorway.
Thereâs a supercute long sleeve version too…
Plus a bunch of other designs to choose from, too. If you want to join in the fun, click here to peruse all the projects, yarns and variations, and get all the scoop when the yarn sale opens!

Microwave Sticky Toffee Pudding This recipe promises âYouâre just 10 minutes away from a bowl of soft, date-flecked cake draped in a brown sugary sauce.â YOU GUYS. This is a game changer. Maybe even a life changer. You know when you have a craving for something sweet after dinner, but youâve used up all your energy just getting dinner on the table? This is your answer. I swear, itâs a restaurant quality dessert in less time than it takes to run the dog outside one last time before bed. If youâve ever had the Whiskey Cake from Whiskey Cakes restaurant wellâŠthis might be even better. Not to mention faster and cheaper. And before I give you the recipe, let me also recommend something to watch while you knit or crochet this week. I stumbled across âOrigin,â based on the life of Isabel Wilkerson, author of the best-selling and brilliant book, âCaste: The Origins of our Discontents.â Starring Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, it is gripping from start to finish. Whether or not youâve read the book. Highly recommend. Now for the recipe: Ingredients:
