Imagine if everyone watched these…

A few weeks ago, I was chatting over Zoom with my friend Michael who lives in Queensland, Australia. I was telling him about the upcoming Season 6 of our Knit Stars Masterclasses, trying to convey how amazing the documentary videos were turning out. I couldn’t find the words.

“Is it okay if I just show you one?” I asked Michael.

“Yes please!” he said.

I showed him the first one, where Jeanette Sloan talks so transparently about her beautiful bald head (her choice, ever since she survived multiple battles with cancer) and why she’s chosen to embrace her creativity and stand out.

A few seconds into the video, Michael said “Oh wow…” “Wow wow wow oh wowwww…” all the way through the empowering end of the video.

“Can I watch another?” he said.

By the end of our call, Michael – who’s not a knitter – had watched all the mini movies. And then he said something that really surprised me…

“Everyone needs to see these. This is exactly what our world needs right now.”

That’s the moment I decided to hold the first-ever Knit Stars Masterclass Free Preview Week.

For this Free Preview event, we’ve released slightly shortened versions of all 11 Season 6 lifestyle videos here. You can even binge-watch them, “KnitFlix style!”

We’ve also opened sign-ups for Knit Stars Masterclass Season 6, along with a sale on previous Seasons, through October 28th. You can read all about that and join us here.

Xoxo

P.S. When you share the love about Knit Stars Masterclasses, you’ll have a chance to win one of 3 epic prize packs of ALL our Season 6 yarn kits ($1,500+ value!). Click here to enter to win the prize pack.

At our new Knit Stars Flagship Store Grand Opening, we debuted our new custom colorway of Spincycle called “Star Struck.” Like all Spincycle yarns, it’s a masterpiece of color that emulates the look of handspun, and has those slow color changes that keep us all so engaged in each project.

We were curious, so we asked Rachel and Kate of Spincycle, what are your favorite colors to wear?

“Funny enough, most of our ready to wear clothing is black and grey, but our knitwear is where we become adventurous with color. We can answer this together, because Rachel and I have traveled and shopped together [so much] that we no longer know where one of us stops and the next begins. We have so many matching clothes, accessories, and tattoos! That being said, Rachel’s knitwear is primarily teal, grey, and blue, and Kate’s is warm earth tones.”

Shelley used 1 skein of our new custom color “Star Struck” in Spincycle Dyed in the Wool, along with a skein of Spincycle Wilder in “Light Grey” and a skein of our new Loops Luxe Royal Light, to make Andrea Mowry’s “The Shift.” It’s such a fun and engaging knit, she’s ready to make another one!

“When it comes to knitting, it was love at first stitch, and I fell hard!”

Before she was a knitwear designer, Tif Nielan worked in residential interior design. She felt something was missing from her design life until she discovered knitting.

Several of Tif’s designs are featured on our Fall Hot Loops Wall, including Grey Space, a two-color sweater featuring a funnel neck and contrasting sleeve details. Jane knit her Grey Space with LolaBean Cool Beans Worsted in Smoke Show and Silver Streak. Click here to pick out some Cool Beans Worsted to make your own Grey Space.

Tif’s love of knitting new patterns led to the Our Toques hats. “I absolutely love to knit hats, but I tend to not want to knit the same pattern twice.” The solution was a work-around that also allowed for both her and her husband to each have a unique but similar hat. The Our Toques hat kit features yarns in contrasting colors – with enough to knit one for you and one for a friend! Click here to shop the Our Toques hat kit featuring LolaBean Cool Beans Worsted.

“The Golden Hour” shawl by Andrea Mowry is the perfect canvas to play with different techniques and color combinations! Enjoy mosaic knitting, bobbles, and even some eyelets in this satisfying worsted weight shawl pattern. Bekah made her Golden Hour with one skein each of Jolene, Silver Streak, and Smoke Show. Click here to shop the kit, and pick one of our curated color pairings.
