🧶It wouldn’t all fit

BY SHELLEY BRANDER

This week I’ve been organizing my photos from our recent filming trip to Taiwan, as I prepare to fly out on our next filming trip – this time, to Europe.

And I normally save most of the behind-the-scenes stuff for our Earlybirds – the folks who sign up for the next Season early, which helps fund the filmmaking. But I thought it would be fun to put together a “photo dump” of my favorite phone shots from Taiwan – where we filmed around Tai Pei, what we ate and drank, the yarn we shopped…

And I quickly realized it wouldn’t all fit in the newsletter, so I made a dedicated photo dump page for you.

(On the photo dump page, you’ll also find a surprise secret link in case you’d like to join in the full Earlybird experience that’s going on right now…)
I’ll be back next week with some musings from our first European film shoot, with the legendary Erika Knight for Knit Stars 11: Your Season of Genius.

I checked in with Anna to see what she’s been up to, and asked her what she loves most about her Knit Stars class.

“I love that my Knit Stars class encompasses just about everything I have to impart about knitting toys, from tackling a big, huggable project to making tiny, detailed toys, along with all that goes into designing these projects,” Anna said.

“The unhurried pace of the videos allows for a comprehensive view of my whole process, even including a look at how I make a stop-motion video using my knitted characters. There’s really nothing else like it!”

“I created The Squeezable Kingdom specifically for this Knit Stars class, and it’s my favorite kind of knitted toy design—interactive, conducive to storytelling, and endlessly modifiable.”

And what else has Anna been up to since her Knit Stars class was released?

For starters, she has a new knitting book coming out June 30th!

“KNIT MINI AMIGURUMI CATS!” features 20 cat-themed amigurumi knitting projects, each of which is no bigger than a mouse. Technique tutorials and all knitting essentials are included. Just add yarn scraps, needles, and a little stuffing for all the tiny kitty knitting you could need!
To pre-order a signed copy that comes with four bonus cat stickers, plus exclusive early access to a demo video showing you how to knit cat fries, click here.

“And this is crazy, but I have a TV show too!” Anna said. “WOOLLY WOOLLY is an animated children’s series based on my knitted world. It debuted on TV in France and Canada last year, and it’s now streaming for free on YouTube in the U.S, U.K., Australia, and other countries.”
