My get-through-this-together shawl 🌈

This was my first COVID project, in the earliest days of the pandemic when my mind could only handle something super simple. It turned out to be the perfect choice – easy, mindless, meditative and colorful.

Each time I pulled it out, it put a smile on my face. I bet it could do the same for you.

The Fogline Shawl by Brienne Moody is a substantial, rectangular accessory that can be wrapped generously around or worn long as a statement piece.
You’ll love watching the colors come together in our fabulous new kits of Spincycle Dreamstate and Manos Alegria. I personally curated these 3 combinations …
The stitch pattern is easy to memorize, making this a relaxing and effortless knit suitable for both experienced knitters and for knitters attempting their first-ever colorwork project.

Ravelry user jaynebramley said: “Such a beautiful wrap, I love the texture and it is a fun knit, you are just so excited to get to the next color !! The basket stitch pattern is easy to memorize and it is a relaxing knit that is great for knit night or craft day with friends as well as sitting on the sofa at home. ”

Knit your Fogline on Size 7 needles and find the pattern on Ravelry.

We have three kits to choose from: Robin’s Ready, Throwing Shade, and Never Say Never. Each kit contains 4 skeins of Spincycle Dream State and 6 skeins of Manos Alegria!

Hedgehog Fibers is releasing a * new * base … and this one’s got a really cool backstory.

“I’m really excited about this new base I’ve been working on for a while,” says HHF owner Beata Jezek. “It’s a tweed yarn and the colored bits are our own hand-dyed waste – the ties we take off the hand dyed skeins. We save them very diligently and it’s a labor of love.”

“We’ve been collecting the ties for a while and I finally found a mill that could process these, which means re-carding them, blending and spinning into yarn again. We have a batch of this lovely gray-ish tweed yarn with colorful speckles I love how neutral it is with a colorful bit here and there. ”

“We are always looking for ways to be more environmentally friendly and to minimize waste. On top of our thread we are using recycled wool, making 50% of total content recycled. I love the result! It’s soft, yet wooly and not superwash. It blooms beautifully after washing,” Beata said.
Beata has designed a brand new chunky lace shawl to show off this unique base – soon you’ll find it free on Ravelry! Knit it up with 4 skeins of Tweedy on size 9 needles.

Simple. Customizable. 3 ingredients.

And you probably have the ingredients in your fridge!

Today’s Scoop recipe is Super Easy Tomato Cheese Toast. We love this recipe from eatgood4life.com because it’s a twist on a grilled cheese or simple sandwich that might just give your week a yummy change of pace.

And if you have other favorites in your kitchen, this simple recipe can become something special. Add a slice of turkey under the cheese … then maybe some basil leaves or red pepper flakes after your cheese is nice and bubbly! Go with your favorite wheat bread, gluten free, or whatever you’ve got! : D

Super Easy Tomato Cheese Toast

Ingredients:
6 whole grain bread slices
6 slices provolone cheese
6-10 slices tomatoes, sliced
Fresh herbs

Directions:
Place the 6 slices of bread in a baking tray. Arrange the slices of cheese over the bread followed by the tomato slices.

Place the toasts under the broiler for 6-7 minutes. Make sure you look closely after 5 minutes to make sure they don’t burn. They turn very quickly!

Nestled so deep in our hearts, we all have truths we hold dear.

And when someone else articulates that thing we’ve been feeling so deeply, we can feel grounded – so connected – so filled with purpose.

A shared experience can strengthen those connections, too. You probably made everyone in your family a pot holder with those little loom loops, right? You might have one hanging in your kitchen right now.

Loops Trooper Rachel has been spending days at home with her children, and her daughter of seven just might hold the tri-state potholder record. 😉

Last week as she was sitting quietly, humming to herself, weaving loop after little loop, Ellen said, “Mom, when I’m making, I forget that I have hands or a brain. It’s just making and making and it feels really good I could keep going forever. “

She found a simple wisdom that we knitters cherish – that the place you go when the stitches keep coming and you lose yourself in the making is inside all of us.

Let’s keep knitting the world together 🌎💙
