[SCOOP] If only…

Right about now, you might be gazing at this gorgeous photo of this fabulous “Lovebirds” sweater and thinking, “if only.”

“If only I were a better knitter.”

“If only I had more time.”

But here’s the thing, my fiber friend. If you love it, you CAN make it.

And in the case of this particular design by Kate Oates, you get some extra help – in the form of brilliant tutorial links, right there in the pattern – and in the Spincycle yarn itself, which produces the stunning fade effect of the birds-and-hearts motif with much less effort.

So…why the heck not? Why not make this piece that you will wear proudly, over and over, forever and ever?

“Lovebirds” by Kate Oates is a seamless, top down sweater with a geometric design framing our blissed-out lovebirds. Gentle A-line shaping, combined with extra length at the hem complements all body types. We love the options for two different body/sleeve styles.

Plus an option to work the body inside-out for less purling, if that’s your vibe!

Karen knit her sweet lovebirds with Crave Caravan in “Authenticity” for the main color, and Spincycle Dyed in the Wool in “The Saddest Place” as the contrast. We have curated a few other color pairings that are sure to have your needles flying.

Choose your perfect pairing, grab both of your yarns here… and be sure to show us your glowing pic when it’s done!

Linen is a magical fiber…✨

The fiber has a crisp hand while you work, but after you wash and block your finished piece, it transforms into a silky, drape-y dream. And we just got a fresh shipment of our favorite Euroflax Sport.

“Roberta’s Wrap” is an easy-peasy lace vest that can be made quickly and will instantly elevate any summer outfit. Choose two skeins of Euroflax Sport linen + size 8 needles to create this no-seam wardrobe staple! Shelley is modeling her “Roberta’s Wrap” in color Eggplant, and Cassidy made a two-tone version with Champagne and Cream.

If you’d rather dive into a full garment, create your next favorite summer tank with Joji Locatelli’s Staple Linen Top. Both patterns are available on Ravelry.

Peach cobbler is a truly iconic summer dessert, and it’s especially good when you’re smack in the middle of peach season! 🍑

This easy and classic cobbler recipe from Valentina’s Corner is a great way to capture the tastes + smells of summer.

Ingredients:
Peach Filling:
1½ lbs fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3 Tbsp whole milk (or half and half)

Cobbler Crumble:
8 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted and cooled
1 cup all-purpose flour, measured then sifted
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 ½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:
Melt butter and set aside to cool.
Peel and slice peaches into even slices. Toss the peach slices with the 1/4 sugar.
Add peaches to a 9″x13″ casserole dish, pour the 3 Tbsp milk over the peaches.
In a bowl, combine together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and vanilla.
Pour the butter into the dry ingredients. Softly mix until it becomes a crumble.
Distribute the crumble topping evenly over the peaches.
Bake for 375°F for 35-45 minutes until bubbly and the crumble topping crispy.
Serve cobbler warm with vanilla ice cream.
