Scoop: my wrinkled sweaters 🙈
The wrinkles and little imperfections in these sweaters?
Take them as a very good sign.
These are my 3 all-time favorite sweaters in my personal hand-knit wardrobe. One is at least 7 years old. I wear these All. The. Time.
And they’re all made from the same yarn: “Sparrow” 100% linen (link) from Quince & Co. Unlike most linens, it’s butter-soft, and gets softer and softer with each wash and wear.
We just got a big shipment of Sparrow, and for the first time ever (due to COVID19), Quince is allowing us to offer it online. So we stocked up especially in the colors of my personal sweaters.
This is your moment!
Lacy cardigan: Lizzie by Georgie Nicolson (I used 8 skeins Sparrow “Frond” for size 36″)
Sweatshirt-style pullover with raised seams: EasyLine by Judith Brien (I used 7 skeins Sparrow “Conch” for 2nd size)
Striped pullover: Westbourne by Isabell Kraemer (I used 7 skeins Sparrow “Truffle” and 2 skeins Eleuthera for size M1)
If you are reading this, you are fiber-obsessed.
And we get it – we *really* get it.
But over the years, Loops has come to realize that it’s not just about the stitching – it’s about *sharing* the stitches.
We created LoopsClub Together to give every knitter a place to share, learn, be inspired, and of course….knit!
This community has been a joy for knitters and a place to find support while staying home. Here’s what LCT Member Susan E. shared with us:
“I am beyond grateful for this group! It is a treasure, a new adventure and a combination of wonderful creators ❤️ I love to post videos and I have been a little timid, shocking it may seem, but overcoming a fear!!!”
For $19 a month, Loops Club Together brings you:
+ weekly virtual knit-alongs
+ workbooks to inspire you and weekly content
+ Vault of free patterns (great for stash-busting!)
+ Connection with a supportive, global community of knitters
+ Optional quarterly yarn kits with *superstar* designers + AND a printed copy of Untangled– a step-by-step guide to finding joy in your knitting!
And two bonus perks of being a LCT member…you’ll get 10% off any orders from our LoopsLove website and free admission to our Hot Loops parties twice a year!
Membership signups are open until May 20, and when you sign up, we’ll even send you a FREE COPY of my Yarn “self-help” book, Untangled.
Our first quarter kit was a *hit* with a hand-dyed 700 yard fade set in fingering merino! LCT kits always come with an original knit AND crochet pattern and it’s been amazing to watch where the kit has taken everyone’s creativity.
Gwendolyn C. shared her blue bag excitement:
“Blue bag officially hit OKC mailbox today! This is an outstanding bag and yarn. I needed this spark emotionally today. Super happy to have this Together group for positivity right now.”
This week also marks the 15th anniversary of Loops as a LYS! To celebrate, I’ve been doing a series of FREE, LIVE VIDEOS on the public Loops FB page and we’re winding them up in a big way this afternoon.
We’ll have an *anniversary giveaway* and I’ll be sharing some great tips to focus and uplift your knitting with “Love to Give: Tricks and tips for more joyful gift knitting.” It all happens on the Loops Facebook page (facebook-dot-com-slash-loops) at 1pm Central today – Sunday, May 17.

Hedgehog Fibers…
Stephen West…
New Kit…
Are you excited? 😀
Stephen’s Rosy Blooms shawl features a beautiful rosy lace pattern with crisp stitch definition in the vivid hues from Hedgehog Sock. Start from a small corner and increase toward the brioche border in this easy breezy triangle construction. Another win by Stephen West!
Beata dyed up a custom Rosy Blooms kit for us with Hedgehog Fibres Sock in “Melon” and *fluffy* Alpaca Boucle in “Rosehip.” The boucle adds a delicate texture and lofty softness to your finished piece that you’ll admire each every time you wear it. Another win by Stephen West!
Our kit contains 2 skeins of Hedgehog Fibres Sock in Melon and 1 skein of Hedgehog Fibres Alpaca Boucle in Rosehip. We recommend a size 5 needle with this fantastic pattern from Stephen West on Ravelry.
We sold out of this Hot Loops project the first week. Everyone who touched it *had* to make it!
And now it’s back in stock, thanks to our speedy-quick friends at Emma’s Yarn.
The pattern is Light Waves by Dani Sunshine. The little chevron details are understated and so chic.
Ravelry knitter Choupinettealexia said it was “so simple to knit and well explained – the perfect sweater pattern, I love it!”

You might have guessed, I have a lot of irons in the fire…
But here’s a surprise – one of my projects is literally on fire! 🔥
Last year, a friend and I created BBQ Stars: Legends of the Fire. It’s 12 of the world’s top pitmasters and award-winning chefs, teaching 50+ recipes and techniques, in a high-quality format just like Knit Stars.
Guess you just can’t shake the BBQ off this Oklahoma gal 🤠
Anyway, we’re opening up signups for BBQ Stars with a pre-Memorial Day sale, so we thought you might want to check out the free recipe videos…
…or maybe share them with someone in your house who might like to cook for you, while you knit for them? 😏
And we think BBQ Stars would make an *amazing* Father’s Day gift – YES! You can gift it!
Then before you know it you’ll be enjoying things like…
• Pitmaster Tuffy Stone’s award-winning ribs
• Harry Soo’s Miso-Crusted Planked Chilean Sea Bass
• Matt Pittman’s Barbacoa Tacos and Street Corn
• Kent Rollin’s Cowboy Cheddar Biscuits
• Chef Dean Fearing’s Backyard BBQ Chicken
• The Steak Cookoff Association’s Rotisserie Prime Rib
• Chef Tim Grandinetti’s Upside-Down Peach Grits Cake with Whisky Cream
• And – trust us – the best burger you’ve ever eaten, from rising star Jack Arnold!
It’s all on sale for just $197 through May 24th.
And since you’re a Scoop reader I have a special fast-action coupon code for another $50 off: Just $147 for all 11 workshops! But the coupon must be used today. Coupon code: BBQSTARS50
Just go to BBQStars.com to join.
Let’s keep knitting the world together 🌎💙
