🧶Trust the process
BY SHELLEY BRANDER
The longer I move along through this thing called life, the more I believe that there are a few lessons – or maybe just one big lesson – that we are meant to learn, over and over again, until it finally sinks in.
If you’d asked me in my first 50 years, I would have told you my lesson was, “I can and I will.” (Or, put another way, “hold my beer”)…
If someone told me I couldn’t do something, it became not just my goal, but my raison d’etre – my whole reason for being.
But in this current season, I’ve come to believe my real lesson may in fact be “trust the process.”
And just when I think I’ve learned it (no really, Universe, I promise I’ve learned it!)…
💥BAM 💥here comes another lesson. 🤣
So I cast on for this lovely little beaded scarf called “Glissa” designed by my dear friend (and Season 6 Knit Star) Jeanette Sloan. (And by the way, kits are available directly from Jeanette in three colorways, here.)
The pattern calls for you to pre-string the beads onto your yarn, following Jeanette’s carefully thought-out bead plan. Which I did.
Jeanette and I shared the most amazing hug when we finally met in real life, at this year’s Nash Yarn Fest.

But then when I started to knit the scarf, I noticed the bead pattern was developing out of order. It didn’t match the photo of Jeanette’s own Glissa.
